Polyurethane mold release agents

The versatility of polyurethane means that this material can be used in almost any field, from roofing insulation to surfboards. Some of the commercial applications where it is present are insulation products for construction, padding for furniture, automotive components, coatings and adhesives, rollers, wheels, shoe soles, sportswear, among others.

Based on the type of vehicles used to deliver the active materials to the mold surface, they can be classified into water release agents or solvent-based release agents. On the other hand, the active substances contained in the emulsion or solution can be waxes, lacquers, soaps, silicones or fluid polymers.

Water-based mold releases are less harmful to workers, and their performance is equal to or better than a solvent-based mold release. Therefore, it is the best option to ensure both the quality of the product and the well-being of the operators.
